engineered external doors must be protected from direct sun and rain. This is achieved by a porch, canopy or recess of ideally 1.5 metres. If this precaution is not observed the performance of the door will not be satisfactory and any guarantee will be surrendered. In addition to finishing and sealing as above please be aware of the following.

The mortise and tenon is a traditional joint and is popular due to its strength. this is one of the most common joints used by woodworkers and is the traditional corner joint for sturdy frames.

Suitable for fitting double glazing light panel of up to 14mm thick

    Supplied unfinished

    1) We recommend a minimum of 3 coats of a suitable finishing product be applied to fully seal a door or frame

    2) We recommend the fitting (externally) of a weather bar at the bottom of the door

    3) Try to avoid painting a door black (or very dark) as dark colours absorb heat making the product very hot which can lead to cracking or excessive shrinkage

    4) With external oak doors please ensure that the sealant contains a UV protection element. WARNING – If what you are applying is clear it will probably not contain UV protection. Check with your finishing supplier before purchasing

Engineered construction and are made from component parts that are aimed at improving the performance of the finished article.

TREATMENT AND STORAGE: The door must be stored dry and flat. The door must be treated prior to hanging. It is most important that top and bottom edges are fully treated before the door is hung. Both faces and all four edges as well as any "cut outs" and the end grain must be also fully treated.

TRIMMING: With a door lipping of 10mm, each side may be trimmed equally up to a maximum of 6mm
