Description

 
This high quality 5 lever fire rated sash lock that has been approved by British Standards and CE marked. The sash lock comes in two different finishes and sizes, we also offer a keyed alike/differ option.

This is a premium product which has been manufactured to the highest standards in a quality controlled and certified environment. These products are typically of European origin and have been manufactured, finished and packaged using the latest technology.

Each digit refers to a particular feature of the product measured against the standards performance requirements.


DIGIT 1 : Category of Use

Three grades are identified:

Grade 1 - Low frequency of use with a high incentive to exercise care and a small chance of misuse, e.g. internal residential doors

Grade 2 - Medium frequency of use by people with some incentive to exercise care but where there is some chance of misuse, e.g. internal office doors

Grade 3 - High frequency of use by public or others with little incentive to exercise care and with a high chance of misuse, e.g. public doors


DIGIT 2 : Durability

Twelve grades are identified with maximum figures for deadbolt and snib operation, and latch bolt operation with and without side load.


DIGIT 3 : Door Mass and closing force

Nine grades are identified with maximum figures for closing force at various door masses. Note: Closing force is from a standing start: i.e. fully extended latch bolt in contact with striking plate at start of test.


DIGIT 4 : Fire resistance

Two grades are identified for single axis hinges:

Grade 0 - Not approved for use on fire/smoke door assemblies
Grade 1 - Suitable for use on fire/smoke door assemblies and tested to BS EN 1634-1 etc


DIGIT 5 : Safety

DIGIT 6 : Corrosion resistance

Eight grades are identified neutral salt-spray with and without temperature resistance


DIGIT 7 : Security

Seven grades are identified with maximum figures relating to physical attack, with or without drilling.


DIGIT 8 : Field of door application

Fifteen grades are identified for differing applications - hinged or sliding doors with rim or mortice locks with either keyless egress from inside or key locking from both sides. The grading determines which application is appropriate. In addition, there is a requirement that lock/latch should not be removable from outside or, for grades K to R, from inside using "standard" tools. Grades H and P require support for the lock case when installed.



DIGIT 9 : Type of key operation and locking

Nine grades are identified for differing types of keys operation. The grading determines how the lock is assessed for deadlocking. There is a maximum key torque operating requirement of 1.5Nm and a minimum key strength requirement of 2.5Nm.



DIGIT 10 : Type of spindle operation

Nine grades are identified relating to the number of differs and levers:


  • Grade 0: no requirements

  • Grade A: minimum 3 detaining elements

  • Grade B: minimum 5 detaining elements

  • Grade C: minimum 5 detaining elements, extended number of effective differs 

  • Grade D: minimum 6 detaining elements

  • Grade E: minimum 6 detaining elements, extended number of effective differs 


Digit 11 : Key identification

9 grades are identified relating to the number of differs and levers, grade 0 relates to a latch with no locking action.

Orders that weigh over 2kg and/or measure over 900mm in length may be subject to a surcharge for deliveries to the following UK regions:

  • Scottish Highlands (All IV, KW, FK (19-21), KA (27-30), PA (20-40) and PH (8-50) postcodes) 

  • Scottish Offshore Islands inc Shetlands (All ZE, HS and PA (42-88) postcodes)

  • Isle of Man (All IM postcodes) 

  • Scilly Isles (All TR21-TR25 postcodes) 

  • Channel Islands (All JE and GY postcodes) 

  • Isle of Wight (All PO31-PO40 postcodes)

Pallet deliveries of approximately 5+ doors (excluding cabinet and louvre doors) to the following areas may also be subject to surcharges:

Please be advised that orders for 2 or more doors may be delivered using a palletised service.
This service will only deliver your order to the road/kerbside as close to your property as possible using a tail lift, and the courier will not be able to assist with the unloading of the doors from the pallet itself. The pallet will not be taken away by the courier. The courier will be asked to contact you ahead of delivery, therefore a valid telephone number will be required. All palletised deliveries require a signature to confirm that the goods have been delivered without damage. Should this delivery arrangement not be suitable for you, or in the event of there being access restrictions to your delivery address, please contact us prior to placing your order. On the rare occasion an item offers a Collection Only service and cannot be delivered using traditional methods, the item will have a Collection Only message displayed next to the price on that particular listing.

We would love all our customers to be happy with their purchases. However, should you wish to return your order for any reason, please read the following:
 
  • Returns are accepted with the exception of Special Order items, if they are sent back to us in the original packaging within 30 days of receipt

  • All goods MUST be inspected for any damage in accordance with our Delivery Policy, and we kindly request that any claims for damage be reported via email to us within 48 hours of receipt but within a maximum of 30 days from receipt. Where there is evidence of damage to the outer transit packaging you must mark the delivery as “Damaged“ when signing for it

  • Should you choose to return your order for reasons other than damage/defect, please include a completed returns form within your parcel

  • No statutory cancellation rights apply to products that have been specifically made to your requirements, design or measurements

  • Refunds will be processed within 30 days of receipt of any returned items
